Are you considering a business venture in the world of online gaming and casinos? If the answer is “yes” then one of your key considerations will be where on earth you should apply for a license!
Many will plump for traditional options such as the UK, the Isle of Man, or Malta- but applying for a license in these jurisdictions can be expensive, complex, and time consuming. For those that are testing the water with a new product or angle, it can be quite a risky process. That is why at Fast Offshore we recommend testing the water, and your concept with the Curacao Gaming License, before deciding whether to stay put, or transfer to another, costlier jurisdiction.
If you want to get an online gaming license and get set up and operational in an optimum time frame then a Curacao Gaming License is the choice for you. As one of the most affordable options out there, you can get regulated for casino, poker, bingo, lottery, raffle, and sports book, by following a simple online procedure.
To get set up online, you only need to apply for one single license. This means that regardless of whether you want to run an online casino, a sportsbook or a website that does a little bit of everything- there is only one application process to go through and one set of fees to pay. Compared to some other jurisdictions, this process is much more favourable, particularly for startups who may want to add more services and game types to their repertoire as they go along.
In addition to this, the country has some of the most favourable tax benefits around with authorities charging just 2% on all net profits. Other benefits include 0% tax on gross bets, no sales tax, no import duties, no VAT, and no restrictions on the withdrawals of dividends.
What types of license are there?
The Curacao Minister of Justice granted 4 (four) Online Gaming Master Licences issued; these 4 licenses were issued to:
- Cyberluck Curacao N.V. #1668/JAZ
- Gaming Services Provider N.V. #365/JAZ
- Curacao Interactive Licensing N.V. #5536/JAZ
- Antillephone NV #8048/JAZ
The Master Licence holder issues Sublicences to online gaming operators that meet the requirements. Sublicensees are entitled to operate under the Master Licence holder’s License and enjoy all the same rights and privileges the Master License Holders enjoys, apart from the ability to further sublicense. The regulatory framework in Curacao allows the 1 Licence to cover any and all games of chance and/or skill, in addition to related activities such as software providers, platform operators, and aggregators.
