Benefits of St Kitts and Nevis passport
Holding a St Kitts and Nevis passport has several benefits. First and foremost, you become a citizen for life, and that citizenship can be passed down to future generations of your family via descent. This means it is an investment in your family’s future, not just for now. In addition, as a part of your application, you can include your spouse and children under 26 and parents over 55. You are also empowered to pass citizenship to other dependents after you have been granted it.
St Kitts and Nevis may be a small country, but it is part of the Commonwealth, which grants citizens many privileges in the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth countries. You do not have to give up your existing citizenship, as St Kitts and Nevis allows dual citizenship, and there are no requirements on how long you have to be or remain in the country.
With your St Kitts and Nevis passport in hand, you can travel to over 150 countries without a visa. You can also live, work and study in St Kitts and Nevis, enjoying everything this incredible country has to offer.
Lastly, St Kitts and Nevis is an idyllic Caribbean country with great weather and infrastructure and superb air links to North and South America, Europe, and beyond.
What you need to know before applying
Citizenship to St Kitts and Nevis is granted in return for a significant financial contribution to the state or a large investment. You must be prepared to do this to be granted citizenship. In addition, you must undergo a stringent due diligence process, including background checks, means testing, and the provision of many documents related to your identity, finances, and situation.
To qualify for citizenship, you must be prepared to meet the following criteria:
- Providing a Sustinable Island State Contribution (SISC). This is a non-refundable amount equal to USD 250,000, given to the state and covers the applicant and three dependents.
- If you wish to include other dependents over 18, aside from the aforementioned three, a further $50,000 per dependent must be given.
- For dependents under 18, you must pay $25,000 for each one.
- Alternatively, you can opt for a non-refundable contribution of at least $250,000 to an Approved Public Benefit Project. These include development and infrastructure projects as specified by the state.
- The third qualifying financial contribution is the purchase of real estate or other immovable property with a purchase price of at least $325,000 from a state-approved real estate development, a $325,000 condominium, or a $600,000 single-family private property. The property must be held for at least seven years, after which it can be resold under certain conditions.
