Global Gaming Expo Day One Recap

Yesterday Fast Offshore attended the first day of the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas, USA. Widely regarded as the ‘Superbowl’ of the international iGaming industry, some 27,000 delegates are expected to attend over the course of the week..

The first day of the event is the so-called “warm-up” which featured the Global Gaming Awards luncheon and a number of conferences with an educational theme. Also taking place yesterday was the Gambling Insider’s Global Gaming Awards which are well-recognised as one of the most prestigious accolades an industry stakeholder can win.

With 12 categories and 100 judges including some of the biggest names in the industry, winning a Global Gaming award is a real sign of excellence. Winners of some of this year’s awards included DraftKings, Kambi, MGM Resorts, Open Sports, Gaming Laboratories International and The Venetian Macao.

Following the awards was a conference on using new tools to help ensure responsible gaming practices are adhered to. Topics on the table included how AI and blockchain can be utilised to protect customers from dangerous gambling behavior, ensure compliance with regulations, and share information between jurisdictions and companies.

For example, if one jurisdiction had in place very comprehensive responsible gaming policies and used blockchain to enforce it, they would be able to share information with other jurisdictions whilst adhering to rules such as GRPR. By sharing information in this way, customers can be protected and it is easier to detect and identify problem gamers.

Another subject up for discussion yesterday and one that is likely to be talked about at length over the next few days is that of the upcoming sports betting regulation across the US. The growth of online gambling in the US is predicted to explode in the coming months and years with many believing that most operators will opt for sports betting businesses before moving into online casinos and iGaming.

On the agenda for the next few days is an exciting array of product releases, c-level executive speeches and talks, new innovations, appearances from industry leaders and some of the sectors most promising networking events.

Ron Mendelson, Director of Fast Offshore who has over two decades of experience in the international iGaming sector is looking forward to the upcoming days.

“One of the best events in the iGaming calendar, Global Gaming Expo is always a great opportunity to meet with other service providers, operators, regulators, and potential clients. I am looking forward to expanding my network and learning about what is in store for the next 12 months in this exciting and dynamic industry.”
