TRON-backed blockchain gaming network gets Curacao gaming license

Curacao

A new Blockchain-based gaming network that is backed by Justin Sun has just acquired a Curacao gaming license.

WINk which is supported by the TRON Foundation, run by Sun, has just announced its acquisition of the license which could prove to be a revolutionary step for the digital blockchain gaming industry. Whilst it is a small step for now, Sun commented that it is a “giant leap” for the blockchain gaming industry as a whole.

The iGaming industry is one of the fastest-growing and most lucrative sectors in the world and the prevalence of blockchain in the sector has resulted in multi-fold growth. Whilst there are a number of established companies already taking big slices of the pie, WINk has solid backing from big players such as Sun.

The announcement was made via medium and WINk said that they have held a sublicense as of 31st July 2019.

Curacao is a small island in the Dutch Carribean and is a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.. Over the last few years, it has solidified its position as one of the leading jurisdictions for online gaming companies to establish a base and apply for a license. In addition to the pivotal role they have played in the e-gaming industry, they are now branching out into crypto and blockchain as well.

The country enjoys a progressive legal system, a flexible regulatory regime, political and economic instability, high-quality telecom facilities, fiscal benefits, and a strong corporate and financial services industry. This has made it a popular destination for a range of international tech businesses and startups, of which WINk is the latest.

WINk is what is known as a dApp and it was the first of its kind to be launched on the TRON ecosystem. It was also the first dApp based on TRON to launch its token WIN on the Binance Chain.

“WINk aims to build on its market position as a leading blockchain gaming platform through the consistent introduction of high-quality dApps. This will be accomplished by leveraging the WINk team’s experience for game/ecosystem design and by enabling other development teams and users to guide the growth and direction of the platform through a unique governance mechanism,” said a WINk spokesperson.

WINk is also the world’s largest dApp when it comes to the size of its user base and the number of transactions, surpassing that of ETH and EOS.
